Backpackers and what is said and done behind hostel walls
Backpackers are viewed by some and in the main, those who have never tried their hand at travelling on a tight budget, as vial and worthless creatures. While they may have a point, hey the world is full of the ever so strange people, what those who have never tried hostel life miss, is the funny side of this part of the adventure we call life.
Listed here are 11 of the most common things backpackers don’t ever say or do….. HONEST!
Eat healthily:…… I never tried to save money by eating pot noodles and convincing myself it was a nutritious meal!
Sex in a Hostel:…….I have never had sex in a hostel but the other person who shared my bed must have!
Socially responsible:…….. I am always considering those around me, even when I try to barter street sellers down and asking for discounts in hostels…hey my needs are far greater than the needs of a third world person!
Culturally responsible:……. I always take note of those around me and never stereotype people due to their culture, religion or country of origin!
Environmentally responsible:…….. I always stay at hostels where they charge slightly more for a bed rate because they were taking steps to help the environment!
Fall for a scam:……… I was so far too clever to be scammed and never has a street vendor bettered me!
Immerse yourself in the local culture: I never once craved or ate western food!
Get drunk:…… I always ensure, I never drink so much booze, that I didn’t know what I was doing……..I always know when to stop, just as I fall over for the last time!
Never lie to others:……. I have never lied to gain favour from fellow backpacker’s hostel owners or indeed the opposite sex!
Never stolen:……. I have borrowed a few knifes & spoons but always plan to take them back!
Have you ever heard yourself say any of these statements or is it just the other guy that said it?
